On April 8, the IWUF 10th Sanda World Cup entered its second day of thrilling matches at Jiangyin Pegasus Watertown, featuring eight spectacular bouts.
Women's Competition
The women's events included the second round of single round-robin matches in the 56kg, 65kg, and 70kg categories.
- 56kg: Hong Kong (China) athlete Chan Tsz Ching took the first round with swift and agile attacks, but Brazil's Beatriz Adriao Rustice Silva gradually found her rhythm, rallying to win the next two rounds and securing a comeback victory.
- 65kg: Iran's Sedigheh Dariaeivarkadeh continued her dominant performance, defeating Australia's Nicole Lowe-Tarbert with a clear advantage.
- 70kg: China's Zhu Hailan maintained her strong form, triumphing over Turkmenistan's Govher Govshudova.
Men's Competition
The men's events featured the second round of single round-robin matches in the 48kg, 75kg, 80kg, and 90kg+ categories, as well as the 65kg semifinal.
- Indian athletes stood out, with Kushal Kumar (48kg), Ravi Panchal (65kg), and Mukesh Choudhary (75kg) each defeating their opponents. Their exceptional takedown techniques proved key to India's success.
- In the 65kg semifinal, China's Guo Wei advanced directly to the finals after the Philippines' Clemente Tabugara Jr. withdrew due to injury. In 80kg’s competition: China's Gao Mingjie defeated Mexico's Kevin Alan Gallardo Onofre.
- 90kg+: rising star Jiahao CAI from Hong Kong, China faced Kazakhstan's Nursultan Tursynkulov. Nursultan launched a fierce offensive early, taking the first round. However, Jiahao fought back steadily in the second round, leveling the score. Despite fading stamina, Nursultan pushed his opponent off the platform twice with sheer determination, clinching the win.
